The Virgin Diet is a new weight loss book by health and fitness expert, J.J. Virgin.
J.J. is a well-recognized fitness coach and nutritional expert, and has published previous bestselling health and weight loss books. However, from what I know about The Virgin Diet and the author's philosophy on diet and exercising, I predict this book will become an instant classic in the genre.
The premise of this book is that many of us who deal with weight and various health challenges are actually be sabotaged by the food we eat. Because you see, a lot of us suffer from food intolerance, and while we may not even be aware of these intolerances, our bodies feel the effect of certain foods, much like we would if we ingested a dose of poison.
Sadly, a lot of the food we eat is poisonous. And that's not because the foods are bad. It simply means our bodies are not equipped to deal with certain foods.
For example, I am lactose intolerant. If I eat a bowl of cold cereal with milk, within the hour I will be suffering from gastro-intestinal stress. For whatever reason, my body is unable to metabolize or digest the proteins in milk.
J.J. explains the chemistry and causes of food intolerances in her book, so I'll leave that to her. But the short explanation is that the amino acids and enzymes used to digest proteins and other foods plays a key role in how our body uses and stores fat.
As J.J. explains in her book, many of us suffer from food intolerance, and may be able to dramatically improve our health and weight loss efforts by simply removing a handful of food items from our diet. And if you think about your diet, you'll realize that you probably eat 5-7 different meals on a regular basis.
And as J.J. suggests in The Virgin Diet, there is a good chance that one or more of those food items you eat routinely, may be the culprit causes poor health and weight gain.
The cure to food intolerances lies with identifying the foods causing the problem, and then making a conscious effort to remove those foods from your menu. If you can do those two things, you can lose weight, and according to J.J., may a see a significant improvement in your health and energy levels.
I'm 'all in' on The Virgin Diet, and hope you will consider how food intolerances may be impacting your health and weight loss efforts.
